The Detroit Lions are 0-12. I’m sure you knew that.
The worst record of Detroit’s remaining opponents is 5-7 (at Green Bay December 28). The Lions are going to be a heavy underdog in each of the four games.
As they prepare to take on the NFC North-leading Vikings Sunday at Ford Field, coach Rod Marinelli is taking time to convince his team they aren’t going 0-16.
There is precedent for a Lions victory. In 2001, they started 0-12, then beat the Vikings in their 13th game. You may remember the Johnnie Morton-Jay Leno dustup from that season.
With that in mind, maybe it’s Brad Childress who needs to start using odd motivational ploys this week.
