Apr. 24, 2009 (Star Tribune delivered by Newstex ) --
The Vikings did not have an interest in getting involved in the Anquan Boldin sweepstakes when the Arizona Cardinals were looking for a first- and third-round pick in return for the wide receiver. But that asking price has dropped, according to ESPN.
The Cardinals are now?looking for a second-round pick and ESPN reports?the Jets, Giants and Eagles all have expressed interest. The Vikings are not mentioned but clearly this is a team looking to upgrade at the receiver spot. The feeling is that if Florida wide receiver?Percy Harvin is available when the Vikings select 22nd in the first round of the NFL draft on Saturday they would take him.
Boldin, 28, has two years left on?his four-year, $22.5 million contract. Last season, he caught 89 passes for 1,038 yards with 11 touchdowns and earned a berth in the Pro Bowl. Boldin has been unhappy with his contract. There reportedly is concern around the league that Boldin has a chronic hip condition.
