TAMPA, Fla. | Buccaneers running back Earnest Graham will miss the rest of the season after injuring his right ankle during last week's victory over the Minnesota Vikings .

Fourth-year pro Noah Herron was signed to fill Graham's spot on the roster. He has appeared in 23 games with Green Bay and Pittsburgh, rushing for 273 yards and three touchdowns.

Graham is Tampa Bay's leading rusher with 563 yards and a team-best four TDs. With him out, Warrick Dunn moves into the featured tailback role. He will be backed up by Carnell "Cadillac" Williams.

Lawyer: NFL didn't warn about banned substance

NEW YORK | The lawyer for three New Orleans Saints players facing suspension said Wednesday the NFL's independent drug administrator acknowledged he did not inform NFL players that the supplement StarCaps contained a banned diuretic.

During the players' appeals hearing, attorney David Cornwell said that Dr. John Lombardo's testimony proved none of his clients -- Deuce McAllister, Will Smith or Charles Grant -- took steroids.

Cornwell said in an e-mail that Lombardo testified he learned in late 2006 that StarCaps contained Bumetanide, a diuretic considered a masking agent for steroids.

Halfback Jacobs still not sure about Sunday's game

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. | While he seemingly had no problem moving side to side and running forward during individual drills Wednesday, New York Giants halfback Brandon Jacobs wants to wait another day before saying whether he will play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals .

Jacobs tweaked his left knee in the Giants' win over Baltimore last Sunday. An MRI showed no structural damage.

Browns

Sprained shoulder makes Winslow's status unclear

BEREA, Ohio | Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow sustained a sprained right shoulder in Monday night's win over the Buffalo Bills, an injury unlikely to keep him out for an extended period.

Winslow did not practice Wednesday and his status for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans will depend on getting strength and range of motion in his shoulder.

IN OTHER NEWS

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is beat up and won't be at practice until today at the earliest, but is expected to start Sunday against Washington.

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has been fined $25,000 for a recent spate of late hits, but he won't be suspended.

Saints tailback Aaron Stecker (hamstring) went on injured reserve.

Bengals receiver Antonio Chatman (neck) went on injured reserve.
