2. Weak running game ahead: They're playing at Arizona next Sunday. The Cardinals have a weak running game, so even if the Vikings had to rely on Fred Evans and Ellis Wyms, they should be suitable replacements for the Williams Wall in that game.
3. They have proved they can survive losses: The Vikings were able to overcome the loss of middle linebacker E.J. Henderson, one of their best defensive players. So maybe if they lose the Williamses at some point after the Detroit game, it wouldn't be the end of the world to be without two key cogs up the middle.
4. .500 should do it: A 2-2 record in the final four games should be enough to win the NFC North. That's not an impossible task. The Vikings just have to make sure they defeat the Lions and then beat one of the following three opponents: Arizona on the road, Atlanta at home or the New York Giants at home.
5. A capable replacement: If at some point down the road the Vikings lose the Williamses to suspension, Evans is a player with good size and ability and should be fine replacing Pat Williams at nose tackle. That minimizes the overall influence the suspensions would have. Wyms would be the biggest liability trying to replace perennial Pro Bowler Kevin Williams.
