--John David Booty, the Vikings' No. 3 quarterback, said he hasn't lost any weight from his 6-foot-3 frame this offseason but he did admit he's working on his conditioning.
"Really the biggest thing to me is to try to get quicker and bigger," Booty said. "That was the main [thing]. I think it's been a success this offseason ... I just feel a little quicker and a little more firm this year."
--DE Jared Allen isn't attending all of the Vikings' offseason conditioning program but he is still keeping himself in excellent physical condition. "I built a gym at my house (in Arizona)," he said. "I work out every day so I'm ready. I'm excited. Can't wait for OTAs to be through, get rid of training camp and get on with the season."
--OT Drew Radovich, who was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Cal after last year's draft, is considered to be more of a left tackle by the Vikings. Radovich spent last season on injured reserve but could end up as Bryant McKinnie's backup next season.
--QB Sage Rosenfels said he remains in discussions with WR Sidney Rice about getting the No. 18. Rosenfels wore that number for several years and would like to keep wearing it. Rosenfels said he wore No. 4 in high school but that number currently belongs to John David Booty.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I can't tell you how excited we are to have such an explosive playmaker, to put him on the field with the Adrian Petersons of the world, the Bernard Berrians of the world, the way (Visanthe Shiancoe) is coming along on the offensive side of the ball. When we evaluated him just on football between the lines, he was definitely a top-10 pick." -- Rick Spielman, Vikings vice president of player personnel, on the selection of Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin with the 22nd pick in the first round.
