
--Bernard Berrian's 110 receiving yards against the Saints marked the first time a Vikings wide receiver has reached the century mark since the second game of the 2006 season. Troy Williamson had six catches for 102 yards in a victory over Carolina in what was Brad Childress' second game as an NFL head coach.
--The Vikings have won 17 of the past 20 games between these teams. Brad Childress is 3-1 against the Lions since becoming the Vikings coach in 2006. His only loss came in Week 2 of last season when the Lions beat the Vikings, 20-17, in overtime.
--CB Antoine Winfield, who was named the NFC defensive player of the week for his performance versus New Orleans, had 12 tackles and picked off a pass by Joey Harrington against the Lions on Nov. 6, 2005.
--S Darren Sharper posted his first career interception when he picked off Lions quarterback Scott Mitchell and returned the ball 50 yards for a touchdown. That came on Nov. 2, 1997 when Sharper was a rookie with the Green Bay Packers. Sharper has posted at least one interception in four of his six games against Detroit since joining the Vikings.
--The Vikings and Lions have met three times on Thanksgiving in Detroit but have not played on that day since the 1995 season. Minnesota lost 44-38 to the Lions that day. The Vikings beat the Lions in 1969 (27-0) and 1988 (23-0) on Thanksgiving. Interestingly, the Vikings have played just as many Thanksgiving games in Dallas as they have Detroit.
--P Chris Kluwe set a Vikings record with a 57.5-yard gross punting average (230 yards on four punts) at Detroit on Sept. 16, 2007. That broke Mitch Berger's record of 55.8 set on Nov. 15, 1998 against Cincinnati.
--QB Gus Frerotte needs 174 pass yards to reach 20,000 for his career (including playoffs).
--RB Adrian Peterson needs a touchdown to surpass 100 career points. He currently has 96.
BY THE NUMBERS: 1 - Number of blocked field-goal attempts the Vikings have returned for touchdowns in the regular season. The first one happened Monday night when Antoine Winfield returned Martin Gramatica's blocked kick 59 yards for a score. The Vikings did return a blocked kick for a touchdown during the 1976 playoffs when Bobby Bryant did it against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
