THREE AND OUT

THREE AND OUT
1. Strange how things turn out sometimes. If Pat Williams hadn't, gone to court to fight a four-game suspension, he definitely would be back for the playoffs instead of being sidelined for two to six weeks with a fractured scapula. The Vikings didn't really need Williams' run-stopping ability against Arizona, but he will be sorely missed against an Atlanta team that features one of the NFL's best backs in Michael Turner, who has 1,421 rushing yards, second-most in the league behind Adrian Peterson.

2. After Tarvaris Jackson's four-touchdown performance against Arizona, many of us are re-evaluating the belief that he doesn't have much of a future as an NFL quarterback. Jackson has earned the right to start Sunday against Atlanta and, with the Falcons' pass rush, his mobility makes him a better choice than Gus Frerotte.

3. Aside from the blocked field goal attempt, Sunday's victory over Arizona was the Vikings' most impressive performance of the season. But you have to wonder if it's because they have hit stride or because the Cardinals had a letdown after clinching a playoff spot a week earlier.
