Vikings quarterback Sage Rosenfels broke his silence on the team's interest in Brett Favre.
But Rosenfels didn't have much to say about the courtship.
"It doesn't make any sense to comment on something that hasn't happened," Rosenfels, a native of Maquoketa, Iowa, told the Des Moines Register.
Rosenfels was acquired by the Vikings in a trade with the Houston Texans in February.
Meanwhile, Favre's agent Bus Cook told the Hattiesburg American in a story published today that "there's absolutely no substance to all the speculation" surrounding his client un-retiring to play for the Vikings .
"I can't talk about that stuff without (Favre's) written permission," he said.
Favre retired for the second time in February, and he was granted his release from the New York Jets a few weeks ago.
Cook reiterated to the American that Favre is still retired.
"Have there been meetings? Are there any scheduled? To my knowledge, no," Cook told the newspaper. "Right now, Brett's retired. He's out there cutting grass."
Yet, once again, Cook left the door open for his client to un-retire.
"He may look up next week and say, 'I want a job,'" Cook said. "But as of right now, he's retired. That's it."
